Welcome to The 5th St Luke's Scout Group one of the oldest in Bristol.

It all began somewhere around 1907–08. Although we can't be sure of the exact date - it originated from the drum and bugle band which was formed to raise money for the building of St Anne's Church which was completed around 1906.

Over the years the group has been a big part of the local community providing the opportunity for thousands of young people to experience scouting.

Some stayed for a year or two, others for much longer, but no matter how long they stayed they learned new skills, made good friends and had a great deal of fun.

Whilst the Scout band for which we became so well known has sadly closed the group continues to thrive with 3 sections and over 70 members joining us each week to learn new skills, make friends be part of the worldwide Scout Association.

Our hut "The Wigwam" is located in the heart of Brislington tucked away behind the A4 and next to Brislington Brook which flows through the area.

Being a part of the Bristol South District & Avon County, our group caters to young members by providing a diverse program. Engaging with other Scout groups, charities, and organisations in the local community is a regular practice for us, ensuring that the children are connected to the area they live in.

Our enduring partnership with St Luke's church, after which we are named, is a testament to our commitment to the community.

Want to get Involved?

We are currently running a section in each of the following age groups (Beavers 6 to 8, Cubs 8 to 10.5, Scouts 10.5 to 14) and are at capacity in all three.

If you would like to add your child to our waiting list please click the link below

We like many groups are in need are more leaders to work alongside our established team and help setup additional sections in each age group, that means those children waiting to become members can start their journey in Scouting and not miss out.

"I don't have the skills for that" "I'd need training" "I've never been a Scout so have no idea" are all things popping in to your head right now we're sure.

Firstly; you don't need to have come from a Scouting background. In fact many leaders haven't. What you do  need is to be willing to give up a small amount of your time and be interested in giving young people opportunities and experiences that are more important than ever as more of daily life becomes screen based.

If you think you might be interested, please drop us a line and take the 4 week challenge.
